Participants discussed the application of FIDIC contracts, the role of the Engineer, construction quality, and the initiative to launch a FIDIC Club.
The first meeting of the FIDIC OSH professional community took place in Tashkent — a forum for open dialogue among specialists in the infrastructure sector. The meeting brought together representatives of employers, consulting engineers, contractors, and lawyers working with international contract forms.
During the discussion, participants addressed not only the application of FIDIC contracts but also the practical challenges specialists face every day: contract management, the role and independence of the Engineer, construction quality, certain gaps in process regulation, and a lack of professional exchange of experience.
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was the initiative to establish a FIDIC Club — a professional community uniting experts in infrastructure contracts. The club’s goal is to build a culture of FIDIC application, share real-world case studies, and develop industry competencies across Central Asia.
We thank all participants for a meaningful and open dialogue. This is only the beginning — more meetings, case reviews, and joint work on the maturity of contract practice in the region lie ahead.
