Summer School Georgia 2026: FIDIC Intensive in Georgia

From 12 to 20 August 2026, Georgia hosts Summer School Georgia 2026 along the Batumi — Poti — Borjomi route: an international programme on FIDIC contract management, claims, delay analysis and dispute resolution.

The organisers describe the format bluntly: minimum theory, maximum practice, no lectures for the sake of a certificate.

What the programme includes

Summer School combines four components into a single learning path:

• Three FIDIC Academy certified trainings — Contract Management and Administration, Claims and Disputes, Delay Analysis.
• A BRIDGE Consult online course on effective planning and scheduling of construction projects; access is granted to participants during the training.
• A technical visit to the Port of Poti development project.
• Hands-on case work running through the entire programme.

The key difference: one project instead of a list of topics

A conventional FIDIC course walks through contract clauses one by one. This programme is built around the full life cycle of a single infrastructure project, and the case moves through four stages:

1. One project — baseline conditions, contract structure, risk allocation.
2. Event and notices — participants themselves identify the event, the risks, notice deadlines and the evidence required.
3. Claims and delays — preparing claims, extension of time (EOT) requests and analysing the impact of events on the programme.
4. Determination and dispute — Engineer’s determinations, dispute avoidance and resolution mechanisms.

Participants work from the perspective of different project actors — Employer, Engineer, Contractor, contract manager, planner, claims specialist and dispute resolution consultant. There are no traditional lectures: the core format is case analysis, group work and professional discussion.

At registration, participants may submit practical questions or situations from their own work — the organisers undertake to reflect the most relevant ones in the exercises.

Technical visit: Port of Poti

The first-day field module covers the Port of Poti development project. On a live site, participants examine the key delivery challenges, planning and progress monitoring, risk allocation, administration of variations and the parties’ claims — discussed from the Employer’s, Contractor’s and Engineer’s positions.

The experts

The programme is delivered by four international experts who have worked on projects ranging from several million to several billion US dollars — as FIDIC Engineers, advisers to the parties, DAAB/DB members, adjudicators and specialists in claims and delay analysis:

• Nino Tsaturova (Georgia) — FIDIC Certified Trainer, member of the FIDIC President’s List of Adjudicators, international construction lawyer; named FIDIC Academy Best Trainer in 2023.
• Irakli Khergiani (Georgia) — FIDIC Board member, member of the FIDIC President’s List of Adjudicators, President of ACEG.
• Larisa Belousova (Uzbekistan) — member of the FIDIC Ethics Committee, FCCE, FCCP, MCIArb, DRBF DB Practitioner; over 15 years advising transport, road and airport projects across Central Asia.
• Sergii Vdovenko (Ukraine) — FCCE, FCCP, FCCM, PhD, professional engineer; over 24 years delivering industrial and infrastructure projects.

Certificates

On completing the in-person part, participants receive three international FIDIC Academy certificates — one for each certified training in the programme, issued in accordance with FIDIC Academy rules and procedures.

A BRIDGE Consult professional development certificate is additionally issued for the online course upon passing the final assessment, together with a set of training materials, cases and document templates.

The programme also builds a practical foundation for pursuing international FIDIC Credentialing.

Who it is for

The programme is designed for professionals already working with FIDIC contracts who want to systematise that experience at a more advanced level: project managers, Employer representatives, contractors, consulting engineers, contract managers, claims and disputes specialists, planners and construction lawyers.

The organisers note specifically that they expect a comparable professional level across the group, so that the discussion stays substantive.
